Photography is my passion. Since I first picked up a DSLR back in high school, it brought me tremendous joy. There is nothing like taking the perfect shot, capturing the emotion of a particular moment, or highlighting the elegance in a simple object. A lot has changed since the days of chemicals and darkrooms. The tools have changed, but the happiness I get from photography remains.
Product photography has taught me patience. A great deal goes into staging the product, setting up the lighting, and capturing images that attract more than just a cursory glance from the viewer. And that is only the first step. The Photoshop work after the shoot is equally essential and time-consuming. The colors need to be perfect, and any blemishes or imperfections corrected. Many times, the background is removed or replaced.
It's important to remember that these shots sell the product. In many cases, they are the first time that a consumer will see it. It is not the time to be overly clever and "artsy." It can be by far the most challenging type of photography for a creative, and yet, it can be one of the most satisfying.
It's important for me to remember that these shots are designed to sell the product. In many cases they are the first time that a consumer has seen the product. It is not the time to be clever and "artsy." The lighting needs to be even, while showing the products texture (or lack thereof). It can be by far the most challenging type of photography for a creative, and yet it can be one of the most satisfying.
I'm always open to new creative collaborations, whether freelance design or marketing projects or full-time opportunities. Reach out, and I'll get right back with you.
